Understanding the dashboard
Learn how to read and navigate your portfolio dashboard, including summary cards, charts, and the holdings table.
Your dashboard is the central hub for monitoring your portfolio. This guide explains each section and how to use it effectively.
Summary cards
At the top of your dashboard, you'll see summary cards showing key metrics:
Total value
Your portfolio's current market value based on live prices. This updates throughout market hours.
Total gain/loss
How much your portfolio has gained or lost overall:
- Dollar amount — The actual money gained or lost
- Percentage — Your return as a percentage of invested capital
Green indicates a gain, red indicates a loss.
Today's change
How much your portfolio value has changed since market open (or since midnight for crypto, which trades 24/7).
Performance chart
The performance chart shows your portfolio value over time. Use it to:
- Track trends — See if your portfolio is growing
- Spot patterns — Identify seasonal or market-wide movements
- Compare periods — Switch between different time ranges
Time ranges
Select from several time ranges:
- 1D — Past day
- 1W — Past week
- 1M — Past month
- 3M — Past three months
- 6M — Past six months
- 1Y — Past year
- 5Y — Past five years
- MAX — All available history
Interacting with the chart
- Hover on any point to see the exact value on that date
- Click on a date to view your portfolio as it was on that day (time travel feature)
Holdings table
Below the charts, you'll find your holdings listed in a table showing:

| Symbol | Stock ticker or crypto symbol |
| Name | Company or cryptocurrency name |
| Shares | Number of shares/units owned |
| Price | Current market price |
| Value | Current market value (shares × price) |
| Cost | Your average cost per share |
| Gain/Loss | Profit or loss on this holding |
| % Gain | Return as a percentage |
Sorting
Click any column header to sort by that column. Click again to reverse the sort order.
Searching
Use the search box to filter holdings by name or symbol. Useful for large portfolios.
Allocation chart
The pie chart shows how your portfolio is distributed:
- By asset — See how much each holding contributes to your total
- By market — See the split between US, Australian, and crypto holdings
This helps ensure your portfolio is diversified according to your goals.
Navigation
The sidebar (or bottom navigation on mobile) lets you access:
- Portfolio — Your main dashboard
- Watchlist — Stocks you're watching but don't own (PRO)
- Markets — Explore market indices and search for stocks
- Account — Account settings, subscription, and preferences
