Setting up email notifications
Receive scheduled portfolio valuation emails with your holdings summary and daily performance.
Email notifications deliver a portfolio summary straight to your inbox on a schedule you choose — daily, weekly, or monthly.
What you'll receive
Each email includes:
- Portfolio value — Your current total portfolio value in your chosen currency
- Daily change — How much your portfolio changed since the previous close
- Top holdings — A table showing your largest positions with current prices and daily changes
Enabling email notifications
- Open your portfolio
- Click the Actions button and select Notifications
- Select the Email tab
- Toggle the switch on
- Configure your preferences:
- Currency — Choose which currency to display values in (USD, AUD, EUR, GBP)
- Frequency — Daily, weekly, or monthly
- Time — When to receive the email (30-minute intervals)
- Timezone — Your local timezone
- Day — For weekly (day of week) or monthly (day of month) schedules
Click Save changes to activate your email notifications.
Choosing a frequency

| Daily | Active traders who want to stay on top of daily movements |
| Weekly | Long-term investors who want a weekly summary |
| Monthly | Hands-off investors focused on long-term trends |
Weekly notifications
When you select weekly, choose which day of the week to receive your email. Common choices:
- Monday — Start the week with a portfolio review
- Friday — End-of-week summary
- Sunday — Prepare for the week ahead
Monthly notifications
When you select monthly, choose which day of the month (1–28) to receive your email. The 28th is the maximum to ensure delivery in shorter months.
Choosing a currency
The currency selector lets you view your portfolio value in your preferred currency. All holdings are converted using current exchange rates, regardless of which market they trade on.
For example, if you hold both US and Australian stocks, you can receive your email summary in:
- USD — See everything in US dollars
- AUD — See everything in Australian dollars
- EUR or GBP — For European investors
Testing your email
After configuring your settings, click Send test email now to receive a sample email immediately. This helps you verify:
- The email arrives in your inbox (check spam if needed)
- The currency and formatting look correct
- Your holdings appear as expected
Managing email notifications
Each portfolio has its own email notification settings. You can:
- Enable emails for some portfolios and not others
- Use different schedules for different portfolios
- Choose different currencies for different portfolios
Email notifications work with all portfolio types, including consolidated portfolios.
Disabling email notifications
To stop receiving emails for a portfolio:
- Open the portfolio and click Actions → Notifications
- Select the Email tab
- Toggle off the notification switch
- Click Save changes
Troubleshooting
Email not arriving
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Verify the email address in your account settings is correct
- Use the Send test email now button to test delivery
- Allow emails from notifications@trackmyshares.com
Wrong portfolio value
If the value in your email doesn't match your dashboard:
- Email values are calculated at the scheduled send time
- Exchange rates may differ slightly between email and dashboard
- Ensure both are using the same currency for comparison
