- Email address and name (provided during registration or via Google sign-in)
- Subscription and billing information (processed by Stripe; we do not store your payment card details)
Portfolio data
- Holdings, transactions, watchlist items, and portfolio settings that you enter into the service
Usage data
- Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the service
- Device type, browser type, and operating system
- IP address and approximate location
2. How we use your information
- Service operation: to provide portfolio tracking, tax reports, and other features
- Analytics: to understand how the service is used and improve it
- Email communications: to send account-related notifications, portfolio updates, and occasional product updates
- Support: to respond to your questions and requests
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe processes your payment information in accordance with their privacy policy.
- PostHog — product analytics. Collects usage data to help us understand how the service is used.
- Google Analytics — website analytics. Collects browsing data and usage patterns.
- Third-party market data providers — we retrieve price and dividend data using stock symbols. No personal information is shared with market data providers.
4. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential cookies: required for authentication and core service functionality
- Analytics cookies: used by PostHog and Google Analytics to understand usage patterns
Consent model
Our approach to analytics consent depends on your location:
- EU/EEA and UK users: analytics cookies are only loaded after you give explicit consent via the cookie consent banner, in accordance with GDPR and the UK GDPR.
- Users outside the EU/EEA and UK: analytics cookies are enabled by default on an opt-out basis. You can disable analytics at any time through your account settings or by clearing your browser cookies.
Your location is determined using the country associated with your connection. We use this solely to decide which consent model applies and do not store or process location data beyond a country-level cookie.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us through our support page. When your account is deleted:
- All portfolio data, transaction history, and personal information are permanently deleted
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained as it cannot be linked back to you
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data by viewing your account and portfolio information
- Correct inaccurate data through the service interface
- Delete your account and all associated data by contacting support
- Export your portfolio data through the service
- Opt out of marketing emails through your account preferences
- Opt out of analytics and tracking through your account settings
7. California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

8. Children's privacy
TrackMyShares is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Email communications
We may send you the following types of emails:
- Account emails: verification, password reset, and security notifications (cannot be unsubscribed)
- Portfolio notifications: daily portfolio summaries (configurable in settings)
- Product updates: new features, tips, and occasional promotional content (can be unsubscribed via account preferences or the unsubscribe link in each email)
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page and may notify you via email or through the service.
