About TrackMyShares

Built by one person, for investors who want straightforward tracking without paying premium prices.

Hi, I'm Leandro

I've been a software engineer for over 20 years. I invest in both US and Australian markets, across shares, ETFs, RSUs, and multiple broker accounts. Keeping track of everything, especially at tax time, was hours of manual work every year.

I looked at existing portfolio trackers. They had the features I needed, but the pricing didn't make sense for me. So I built TrackMyShares for myself first, then made it available to other investors dealing with the same frustrations.

Why TrackMyShares exists

Lodging taxes meant pulling data from different brokers, reconciling transactions, calculating capital gains across two tax systems, and making sure nothing was missed. The existing tools cost too much for what I needed.

TrackMyShares has the features you'd find in the most well-known portfolio trackers: multi-market support, dividend tracking, tax reports, portfolio analytics, rebalancing, and more. The difference is it costs a fraction of the price, because it runs lean.

What we do well

  • Two tax systems, one tool. Australian CGT with the 12-month discount and franking credits, alongside US cost basis and wash-sale handling.
  • Broker-agnostic. Import CSVs from major Australian and US brokers, or forward trade confirmation emails for automatic transaction capture.
  • Specific-lot identification. Choose which lots to dispose of when selling, so you can control your tax outcome.
  • Free tools that actually help. ETF overlap analysis, dividend calculators, CGT calculators, and DCA comparisons, all free to use.
