Introducing TrackMyShares: Track your investments across markets
I built TrackMyShares because I was tired of spreadsheets. I hold US stocks, Australian shares, and some crypto, and I could not find a single tool that handled all three without being either painfully basic or absurdly expensive.
So I built one.
The problem
If you invest across US stocks, ASX shares, and crypto, your options are basically: juggle multiple apps, maintain a spreadsheet that breaks every quarter, or settle for a tracker that only covers one market properly. None of those felt acceptable to me.
What TrackMyShares does
It tracks US stocks (NASDAQ, NYSE), Australian shares (ASX), and cryptocurrencies in one dashboard. Everything from Apple to BHP to Bitcoin, in one place, with prices updated throughout the day.
Dividend tracking was a priority from day one. You get yield data, upcoming payment dates, annual income projections, and historical payments across your entire portfolio.
The analytics show asset allocation, market breakdown (US vs Australian vs crypto), historical performance over time, and gain/loss in both dollars and percentages. You can click any date on the performance chart to see exactly what your portfolio looked like that day.
Getting started is straightforward: CSV import from your broker or manual entry.
It is a Progressive Web App, so you can install it on your phone directly from the browser. Fast, works offline for viewing, no app store needed.
Your data stays encrypted and private. We do not share it with third parties.
Update, February 2026: We have shipped a lot since launch based on user feedback. Here is what is new.
What we have shipped since launch
Transaction tracking and cost basis. You can now record individual buy, sell, and dividend transactions. TrackMyShares calculates cost basis across all your lots automatically.
Specific lot identification. When selling, you choose which tax lots to dispose of. Full control over short-term vs long-term gains for tax-optimised selling.
Tax reports. Generate detailed tax reports for any financial year, with capital gains broken down by short-term and long-term, dividend income, withholding tax, and franking credits.
Tax-loss harvesting. Identify holdings with unrealised losses that could offset your gains. See estimated tax savings based on your marginal rate.
Benchmark comparison. Compare your performance against the S&P 500, ASX 200, Nasdaq 100, or Bitcoin over any time period.
Dividend income calculator. A free tool to figure out how many shares you need to hit your target yearly dividend income. Enter a stock, set a goal, get the numbers.
Portfolio sharing. Share a snapshot of your allocation as an image, generated entirely in your browser for privacy.
Broker imports from 17 brokers. CSV and Excel imports with step-by-step guides. The import dialog detects your file format and guides you through the process.
CSV merge tool. Combine multiple broker exports from different years or formats into one standardised file before importing.
Automatic stock split detection. When importing, TrackMyShares detects when historical quantities do not match due to splits and adjusts your records.
Mobile improvements. Swipeable charts, full iOS Safari compatibility, and continued PWA improvements.
What is next
We are working on additional market support (European, Asian, and other global exchanges), price alerts, advanced analytics like sector allocation and correlation analysis, and more PWA improvements.
